Katie and Alan Katz tied the knot on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at deLorimier Winery wedding venue in Sonoma County. Just East of Geyserville, deLorimier winery is located off Highway 128 in Alexander Valley. deLorimier is considered a boutique winery in Napa Valley. This means they produce less than 10,000 cases of hand-crafted and artisanal wine annually. The deLorimier winery can be found along the “wine trail,” an area surrounded by rolling hills of Bordeaux varietals. Order a flight of deLorimier’s award-winning Cabs and Meritage to taste the age-old tradition yourself.
Couples who wed at deLorimier often say “I do” in front of an enormous fountain, encircled by wine tasting rooms and wisteria. Or if you like Katie and Alan’s style, couples can share vows beneath the limbs of a massive tree. Some deLorimier winery wedding receptions take place on the back lawn. This soft grassy area offers vineyard views and is decorated with strands of twinkle lights. Imagine hosting the romantic garden wedding of your dreams here. Dance the night away under the stars!

… the events that led Katie and Alan to wed at deLorimier Winery Wedding Venue in Sonoma County.
Katie became a behavioral therapist for kids with Autism when she first moved to California. At the end of training, Katie and her classmates went out for dinner. Alan was invited to that same dinner and sat right next to Katie. They bonded over coffee and people watching. By the end of the night, Alan asked for Katie’s number. He said he wanted to “show her around the city” aka “take her on a date”.
A week later on July 1, 2016, Alan took Katie into San Francisco. They grabbed coffee at Philz and drove around the city. Katie quickly realized that this was more than just two friends hanging out. Then Alan took Katie to the Original Joe’s in North Beach and valeted the car.
After sitting down, Katie saw how expensive the restaurant was and got worried. Alan calmed her nerves quickly. He had chicken parm, Katie had chicken marsala, and together they gobbled up fresh sourdough. They left the restaurant after three hours of talking and dining, and headed up to Twin Peaks. Alan promised Katie the best view of the city. When they got to the top, the view was completely whited-out by fog. Absolutely no view, whatsoever. So they stayed in Alan’s car. Snuggled up, they talked about anything and everything, taking turns playing music. They found out they had a very similar diverse taste in music. After a bit, Alan reached over to grab Katie’s hand. A few hours later, he kissed her.
Katie saw Alan every other day for the next three weeks. When he asked her to be his
girlfriend and told Katie he loved her, she responded with an excited “really?”
Clearly, it worked out.
… the events that led Katie and Alan to wed at deLorimier Winery Wedding Venue in Sonoma County.
On Sunday April 11, 2021, Alan took Katie out for one of their classic date nights: Jack’s in San Mateo for dinner, Yummy Yogurt for dessert, followed by a walk along the water in Foster City at sunset. While they were driving to their “usual” sunset spot, Katie and Alan discovered that the whole strip was under construction, and not at all accessible. They found a totally different spot, where they walked out onto a pier. Katie was clueless. She said “okay, I’m cold, let’s go”, turned around, and Alan was down on one knee, asking her to marry him.
“It was the most perfect evening, and better than I could have ever imagined,” Katie says.

Katie and Alan said “I do” beneath the limbs of a larger-than-life tree at deLorimier Winery wedding venue in Sonoma County. White linen hung from tree branches and swaying in the wind served as a chuppah. After vows were shared, Alan shattered a pouch full of glass by stomping on it. This Jewish wedding tradition symbolizes the fragility of relationships and reminds couples to treat relationships with special care.
Katie looked gorgeous in a wedding dress from Wine Country Bride Boutique in downtown Santa Rosa, California. Bridesmaids wore dusty blue mismatched dresses and Last Looks by Tiffani did everyone’s hair and makeup. Groom and groomsmen wore classic suits from The Tuxedo Gallery. Sandi Lucchesi of A Sense of Wine incorporated eucalyptus leaves and white blossoms into each floral arrangement.
This beautiful wedding was coordinated by AWE Planner. Catering was provided by Chef Frank Miller – a private chef for celebrities. Case Entertainment kept the party going into the evening with an amazing set of music.
