On a beautiful summer day, Sorcha and Damo joined together with their friends and family to commit their love for one another. Vine Hill House sits on the O’Connell Vineyards, located in the Russian River Valley wine region of Sonoma County, California. Surrounded by manicured lawns and flourishing gardens. The Sonoma wedding venue overlooks hundreds of acres of world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards and heirloom organic apple orchards.
The wedding venue offers sweeping views of Mt. St. Helena to the north and the Coastal Mountain Range, which stretches south to the San Francisco Bay Area. On this day, they became one family. Being able to authentically capture their love story is my greatest honor.
I adore Vine Hill House because no two weddings are the same. Sorcha and Damo’s glamorous wedding fit them perfectly. I also had the privilege of capturing a Colorful Al Fresco Wedding at Vine Hill House in Sebastopol. Whatever your vision is, their team will bring it to life.
This couple was introduced by a pair of siblings who saw the potential connection. As Sorcha shares, “His best friend Jon and my best friend from college, Mia, are brother and sister and were definitely encouraging us to chat with each other after a day of drinking wine all day and partying. That said, I recall looking over at Dano across the bar and seeing him laughing, smiling, and chatting with everyone around him, which instantly made me excited to get to know him better. I gave him my number that night, and we quickly started chatting and went on our first date a few weeks later.” As for Damo, not only does he have a similar story, but he drops the date: January 5, 2019. As he says, “The rest is history.”

On February 3, 2024, almost five years to the day of their first date, Damo slipped a Brilliant Earth ring on Sorcha’s finger in promise.
“We decided it was time to go ring shopping and start picking out what I’d like,” Sorcha says. “We didn’t tell anyone, and it was just this secret activity for us two, and we loved the process. Then, he told me when he had ordered the ring, and I had a feeling when the proposal was coming.”
The proposal itself still caught Sorcha by surprise. Damo recalls, “I’d printed all these pictures of us and put them up all over the apartment, had flowers and candles everywhere, and had champagne on ice.” He continues, “I set up my phone and iPad at different angles to capture the moment. I got rose petals to spell out ‘Will you marry me,’ but I quickly realized that we didn’t exactly have room for that in our apartment.” His solution? “I went with ‘Wife?’ in rose petals, which still gives me a good chuckle. I waited in nervous anticipation, and I double-locked our front door so I would have time to start recording on two devices. It took her probably 45 seconds to unlock both locks, and I was beside myself. She finally got in, and I proposed, just the two of us.”
The couple decided on getting ready photos at two locations, Sorcha wanted to get ready at her parents beautiful home and Dano got ready onsite, then they had their first look at the venue. I have seen more couples choose to have a first look, as it allows them to enjoy the reception for longer and speak privately with each other. There are also couples who prefer the traditional look down the aisle. Whatever your choice, we will capture every tearful moment.
One of my favorite things about this wedding aesthetically was the bride’s stunning red lip and hair pulled back. These were beautiful choices for her glamorous wedding at Vine Hill House in Sonoma.
After a ceremony of sweet vows and a scene out of the Secret Garden, the couple was ready to celebrate with their loved ones. Next, they opted for a sweetheart table where they can see all of their guests. From the catering to the cake to the all-night dancing, this wedding was flawless. Congratulations to the happy couple!
