You might think you’re in Tuscany when you first arrive at Viansa Winery Sonoma County California wedding venue. Every inch of Viansa Winery’s 270-degree views are epic, from valleys of vineyards in the North to mountain-top sunsets in the West. I was honored to host a romantic Tuscan-inspired styled shoot at Viansa Winery during one of those sensational sunsets. The weather was perfect. It was a beautiful, warm California day – the kind of day that couples planning an outdoor wedding pray for.
Venue owners, Sam Sebastiani and Vicki Sebastiani, founded Viansa Winery in 1990. The winery was the couple’s way of honoring their Italian heritage and sharing Sonoma Valley with people from around the world. Today, Viansa Winery is managed by Chris Sebastiani and Jon Sebastiani, Sam and Vicki’s sons. I wanted to pay homage to the family’s Tuscan roots and inspire couples searching for a Sonoma County California wedding venue by organizing this styled shoot.
Friend and fellow creative, Jaime Tosti of Jaime Tosti Events, helped me make this wine country wedding vision a reality. Her eye for design and keen sense of detail are showcased on the tabletop. Bold, beautiful shades of blue pop against the venue and landscape’s creamy color. I chose these colors because they matched the season perfectly. We also added pearls to the bride’s veil because pearl embellishments are a popular 2022 wedding trend.
I am lucky enough to have worked at Viansa Winery Sonoma County California wedding venue a handful of times. There are tons of things to love about this venue, but here are my top three reasons for booking Viansa:
No. 1: Variety of on-site event spaces. There are six distinct event space options for indoor and outdoor ceremonies and receptions – this is so important during Sonoma County California’s rainy season!
No. 2: Location Location Location, this venue is settled at the top of a hill creating a sense of privacy.
No. 3: The views are breathtaking. To the North you see vineyards as far as the eye can see and to the West are mountains and the sunset.
In light of the ongoing pandemic, more and more couples desire open-air event spaces or wedding venues with indoor and outdoor accommodations. Viansa Winery is the perfect place to safely host an indoor-outdoor celebration. Trust me, your guests will thank you for choosing this picturesque destination. After the Tubbs fire in 2017 and the Kincade fire in 2019, you might be surprised to learn that this area of Sonoma Valley is still stunning and thriving.
Viansa Winery’s hilltop villa is commonly referred to as the “Summit of Sonoma” for its beautiful views. Imagine saying “I do” on a hilltop overlooking 97 acres of wetland preserve, olive tree-lined vineyards, ivy-covered buildings and rolling hills. It really doesn’t get more romantic than that. The staff at Viansa will make your wedding guests feel like amici di famiglia, friends of the family, during their visit. Mediterranean architecture and wine cellars offer unlimited romantic wedding backdrops. Take home a bottle of Viansa’s flagship wine, Ossidiana, to drink on your one-year anniversary. This lovely wine is named for the obsidian rock within the property’s soil. The name also pays homage to the obsidian arrowheads left behind by the Miwok tribe that originally inhabited the area.
Guest Capacity: Up to 400 guests outside and up to 200 guests indoors.
Cost: $13,500 on Saturdays and $10,000 on Fridays and Sundays.

Every great event begins with an invitation, and Paper Daisies Stationery understood the assignment. They set the tone with this sophisticated wedding invitation suite. I loved the timeless black and white color palette and gracefully curving lines of calligraphy. Paper Daisies Stationery Founder, Lisa Hladish, leads this design studio with authenticity and love.
Flowers and party rentals from ENCORE Events Rentals brought color and soft romance to this tablescape. Bella Vita Floral Productions made the vision for this styled shoot a reality! Each arrangement was wispy and elegant, this florist is truly an artist.
As I mentioned earlier in the blog, this styled shoot would not have been possible without Jaime Tosti of Jaime Tosti Events. Jaime has planned and coordinated high-end events for over a decade. She is an expert in her field and I cannot recommend her enough.
Santa-Rosa based makeup artist, Chrysti Marie Aesthetics, gave each model a personalized wedding-day look. In addition to makeup, Chrysti is a skin therapist, wax specialist and self-care advocate. Jasmine Contour Bridal completed styling with beautiful hair designs. Jasmine is based in Sonoma County and has been styling since 2014.
As for fashion, each bride modeled wedding dresses from different places. Katie McSweeney wore a gorgeous gown from Hannah Tikkanen Atelier in Vancouver, Canada. Hannah’s bridal collection is inspired by the mysterious beauty and movement of the Pacific ocean. Discover more of her fabulous designs, which are also available for custom order and sizing, online. As an experienced Sonoma Valley wedding photographer, I loved how this dress contrasted with the rocky terrain.
Adriana Franco modeled an elegant, strapless wedding dress from Bliss Bridalwear. Her gorgeous, dark locks contrasted beautifully with the white gown. Adriana’s groom, Jon Lung, looked handsome in a classic black and white tuxedo, also from Bliss Bridalwear. Couples can visit Bliss Bridalwear by appointment in Petaluma, California. Wouldn’t it be cool to get your wedding-day attire at the same location?
My favorite part of this Viansa Winery styled shoot was seeing the vision I had come to life. I spent six weeks planning and prepping. Every detail seems so small when assembled piece-by-piece and then suddenly everything comes together and the finale is just dreamy!
