Wedding planning can be stressful. This is my strongest argument for giving yourselves and your guests a retreat-style, wine country wedding weekend at Solage. This luxury Auberge Resort and spa venue is located at the top of Napa Valley in the charming town of Calistoga. Surrounded by mountain ridges, vineyards and natural hot springs, Solage is a romantic getaway and wedding destination.
The Sonoma wedding venue is 75 miles north of San Francisco, which makes it easily accessible via San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, Santa Rosa and Napa airports. Your loved ones will be wowed by trellis-filled courtyards, lush lawns, private cottages and suites.
Solage has indoor and outdoor event spaces of varying size. Solstice, Solage’s largest indoor event space, is a modern-day farmhouse with vaulted ceilings and sliding window walls that can seat up to 260 guests. The resort’s expert event coordination and on-site catering teams will help you design a dream wedding weekend in the vineyards.
Make your vision of saying “I do” underneath redwoods and surrounded by wine country California views a reality at Trentadue Winery. The staff that runs this family-owned venue will treat your friends and family like their own. Based in Geyserville, California, Trentadue Winery has six different indoor and outdoor event spaces that can accommodate up to 265 people. Grapevine-covered arbors and picturesque patios make this one of the best wedding venues in Sonoma.
After cocktail hour overlooking Alexander Valley vineyards, invite your guests inside for dancing beneath Sala de Leon Pavilion’s vaulted ceilings. Rental of Trentadue Winery includes chairs, tables, wine barrels, bathrooms, a commercial kitchen and lighting. Plus, the winery gives all of their happy couples a 15% discount on Trentadue wines.
Have you ever dreamed of tying the knot in Italy? Jacuzzi Family Vineyards can give you the taste of Tuscany in Sonoma wine country. Located just 45 minutes outside of San Francisco, this spectacular venue features Italian stonework, vineyard views and elegant indoor and outdoor event spaces. Jacuzzi Family Vineyards sits on 190 acres at Arnold Drive in Sonoma-Carneros.
Imagine reciting vows in the Vineyard Vista, dining al fresco in the Grand Piazza or dancing the night away in the elegant Barrel Room. Couples can leave the venue as is or completely transform it with decor. Toast to friends and family on the Tuscan Road – a magical tree-lined vineyard road made for feasting at a candlelit farm table.
Jacuzzi Family Vineyards accommodates up to 150 guests. Couples receive access to a bridal suite, tables, chairs and a 20% discount on all Trentadue wines. The venue requires that couples hire a professional wedding planner.
Searching for a stunning Sonoma Valley backdrop for your big day? Discover the Kunde Family Winery and Kunde Estate. For over a century, five generations of the Kunde family have farmed this 1,850-acre estate. Kunde Family Winery offers wedding weekend experiences that are steeped in rich history and beauty. Start your wedding day by getting ready in the Hill House – originally home to Kinney (namesake for the venue’s Kinneybrook Ranch) and Henry Hawes, who ran a herd of cattle on the property in the early to mid-1900s.
The estate also features a romantic redwood ballroom, a wedding suite and indoor/outdoor event spaces. Host your ceremony on the top of Boot Hill with 360-degree views of vineyards or in Winemaker’s Plaza beneath the cooling shade of pecan trees. Adventurous couples will want to take their guests into The Aging Caves – a half-mile of wine-aging caves tunneled through five-million-year-old volcanic lava flows. At the end of the caves, you’ll find the VIP dining room nestled 175-feet below a vineyard with arched ceilings, iron-red volcanic rock, oak barrel and wine aromas.
Invite your friends and family to this historic estate tucked in the mountains of Calistoga. Triple S Ranch Napa is home to a restored Victorian farmhouse, a vintner’s event barn, stone patios, a commercial kitchen and gorgeous overnight guest accommodations for up to 60 guests. Guest rooms vary in style, ranging from treehouses and cabins to barn-beam bedrooms and farmhouse fantasy suites. Enjoy some of the best sunset and vineyard views in California wine country at Triple S Ranch Napa.
The 20-acre estate can seat up to 150 people at both ceremony and reception sites. Picture yourself sharing vows beneath the limbs of a massive 200-year-old walnut tree. In between wedding festivities, your guests will enjoy a pool, infinity hot tub, gym, outdoor pizza oven, fireplaces and an organic garden. Couples can choose from Triple S Ranch’s list of preferred vendors and/or hire their own planner, caterer, bar services, DJ/band, florists and rentals. This Sonoma wedding venue is one hour from the Golden Gate Bridge and 20 minutes from the Santa Rosa Airport.
Olympia’s Valley Estate is a labor of love. This family-owned working organic farmstead in Petaluma, California has been in operation since 1905. Located on over 2,000 acres of land in Sonoma County, Olympia’s indoor and outdoor event spaces are the envy of the valley. Get hair and makeup done in an 1865 Victorian home for an outdoor wedding ceremony encircled by weeping willow trees. Soak up cocktail hour with friends and family behind the historic home with a brick oven for pizzas or flatbread hors d’oeuvres. Or share dinner and dancing with up to 190 guests in a 150-year-old event barn on Olympia’s Valley Estate.
The historic barn is romantically lit with Italian string lighting, chandeliers and sconces. Larger outdoor events can be hosted in the meadow. Rental of the venue includes setup and breakdown, restrooms, parking and attendants, an on-site catering kitchen, tables, chairs, umbrellas, wine barrels, heat lamps and more.
Olympia’s only two requirements are that couples choose a caterer from their preferred list of vendors and that local food is incorporated into the event menu. The venue’s wedding and event season runs from March 1 through October. Olympia’s is closed for events from November on for maintaining the property and working on the family’s dairy farm, apple orchards and garden. Calling all wine lovers! Please add Chateau St. Jean on the northern side of Sonoma Valley to your must-tour venue list. This vineyard venue comes with a dramatic mountain backdrop, whimsical gardens and a 1920s chateau. Within two steps onto the property you’ll be transported to Italy or the South of France via perfectly manicured grounds and beautiful architecture.
Originally built as a family summer home, Chateau St. Jean was restored in the 1970s to welcome modern-day wedding parties with timeless style. Today, the venue is listed in the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Amenities include an intimate inner courtyard and patio, lawns, vineyards, gardens, water features, mature redwood trees and a state-of-the-art visitor center.
One of my favorite places at Chateau St. Jean is The Olive Grove – an open-air event space covered by a pergola and tucked behind the historic home. As the name might have hinted, this outdoor event space is surrounded by 120-year-old heirloom olive trees. Chateau St. Jean can host up to 400 guests and your planner and caterer must be selected from the venue’s preferred vendor list. Only Chateau St. Jean wines may be served. Sparkling wines and beer are allowed, while hard alcohol and fermentation bars are not.
Step back in time on this sustainable, award-winning, family-owned Sonoma County winery and vineyard. St. Francis Winery has resided in Santa Rosa, California for more than four decades and is recognized globally for fabulous fruit forward and full-bodied wines. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful bell tower with a 1,000-pound bronze bell cast by the Marinelli Foundry in Italy. The bell chimes every hour and will always be a sentimental part of your wedding memory soundtrack.
St. Francis Winery amenities include a bridal suite, patio and lounge furniture, market lights, lawns, heaters, a built-in dance floor, tables, chairs, a catering kitchen, restrooms and a two-acre estate garden. This Sonoma wedding venue can host up to 200 of your friends and family. St. Francis couples are required to choose a caterer and DJ from their list of preferred vendors. The venue also offers a $500 military discount.
You’ll never regret hosting your wine country wedding at Vine Hill House at O’Connell Vineyards in Sebastopol, California. I absolutely adore this quiet, romantic estate that is tucked between Sebastopol and the Russian River. Vine Hill House offers views of hundreds of acres of vineyards and apple orchards from a knoll surrounded by lawns and gardens. Lose yourself in the breathtaking skylines of Mt. St. Helena to the north and the Coastal Mountain Range that stretches South to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Between April 1 and Nov. 30, couples can book the venue, which comes with access to a guest house, event specialists, French oak wine barrels, parking and attendants, restrooms, tables, chairs, market umbrellas, lighting, heaters and a dance floor. There’s even a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and prep area for your caterer. Vine Hill House staff will help set up and break down Vine Hill House rentals. A portion of the wine selected for your wedding must be purchased from O’Connell Vineyards.
