When this beautiful couple invited me to document their engagement session at Hotel Californian and along the Santa Barbara coastline, I knew we were going to create something incredibly special.

After photographing at Hotel Californian, we made our way toward the beach.

This is where Santa Barbara really comes alive.

There is something about photographing couples near the ocean that creates an entirely different energy. The wind moves through their hair. The light reflects off the water. There is room to breathe, move, laugh, and simply enjoy one another.

For this portion of their Santa Barbara engagement photography session, I wanted the photographs to feel effortless and intimate.
